“While painting this chair, I expressed painful memories of the past including the suffering and cruelty it entailed. However, it was a psychological relief to process my mother’s, my wife’s and my son’s tears while I was detained in a prison outside Lebanon. This project gave me hope about the Missing file. Whenever I see this chair, I remember that I have to stand for my rights and that others will join forces with me. My heart is now open for more projects to alleviate my burden.”
